Joint Concert with the National Guard of Ohio Military Band
A joint concert of the National Guard of Ohio’s military band and the “Stanislav Binički” Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence was held last night at the Central Military Club in Belgrade.
The American wind ensemble and our symphony orchestra with choir soloists performed an attractive program of popular, film, and classical music to a full house. The repertoire included timeless hits such as “Bésame Mucho,” “My Way,” “Stranger on the Shore,” and “Devojko mala,” along with a medley of ABBA songs, music from The Godfather, and popular classical arias.
Soloists featured in the concert included members of our ensemble’s mixed choir Biljana Vasiljević Mitrović and Dragan Milanović, Captain Nenad Ninković on trumpet, Major Duško Trnavac on clarinet, and Veronika Elliott on saxophone from the U.S. military band. The concert was conducted by Lieutenant Colonels Aleksandar Đurov, Igor Mitrović, and Rafael Toro-Quiñones.
The evening concluded with a joint performance of the famous “March on the Drina,” followed by an enthusiastic encore and thunderous applause.
