Gala Concert "125 Years with You"
On the occasion of a great jubilee – 125 years of existence – the “Stanislav Binički” Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence held a Gala Concert titled "125 Years with You" last night at the MTS Hall in Belgrade.

The audience had the opportunity to enjoy a rich repertoire of popular and classical music performed by the Ensemble’s symphony orchestra and mixed choir, with soloists, under the baton of Lieutenant Colonels Aleksandar Đurov and Igor Mitrović, and conductor Katarina Božić.
In the packed MTS Hall, the audience delighted in pieces and well-known arrangements such as Guard March, Under the Starlight arranged by Vojkan Borisavljević, and Merakli Čoček performed by clarinet soloist Duško Stamenković, as well as Can-Can and The Great Old Town Waltz. The Ensemble’s soloists, Captain Vladimir Polkaposki and Uroš Kovančić on violin, gave masterful performances of Csárdás and music from the film Schindler’s List.

Particular attention was drawn to the overture from the opera Carmen and the famous Habanera, as well as the rarely performed aria There Beyond That Mountain (Tamo za tom gorom) sung by Stanka from At Dawn (Na uranku) – the first Serbian opera, composed by Stanislav Binički. Thunderous applause followed the performance of the Drinking Song from La Traviata, interpreted by vocal soloists sopranos Marijana Radosavljević and Biljana Vasiljević Mitrović, and tenor Dragan Milanović.

The grand finale of the jubilee concert featured the iconic March on the Drina, composed by the renowned composer and conductor Stanislav Binički, inspired by the Serbian army’s victory at the Battle of Cer. The piece was performed again as an encore with full choral support.
The concert was attended by members of the collegium of the Minister of Defence and the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as representatives of cultural and educational institutions and numerous distinguished guests.
