Four awards for representatives of Serbia at the National Culture Festival in Moscow

At the National Culture Festival “Friendship without Borders”, an accompanying event of the International Army Games in Russia, awards were presented to competitors.

Members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, assisted by the members of the Folk Ensemble “Dimitrije Koturović” from Belgrade, participated in the categories of choral performance of traditional songs, artistic performance of traditional tunes and performing national dances.
At the final ceremony in Patriot Park near Moscow, members of the Artistic Ensemble “Stanislav Binički” were declared the laureates of the festival, and also won second place for the performance of “Gunner’s Kolo” and “The March of King Aleksandar I”.

Members of the Folk Ensemble “Dimitrije Koturović” won the third place for performing “Dances from the Šumadija Region“ and “Dances from the Vranje Region”.
The members of the mixed choir of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces won a special award for performing the song “Tamo daleko”.

What makes the success of the representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces even greater is the fact that it was achieved in a competition in which professional ensembles of most of the participating countries competed.

At the National Culture Festival, each country presents the characteristics of its national culture with various exhibits, and in the competition and non-competition parts, artists from those countries try to show the musical and folklore tradition of their country by performing songs and dances.

The organizer of the Festival is the Division for Cultural Programs of the Department for Culture of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.
